Nor’easter

A short stay to wait out the storm.

Then a man walked into the flooded square in broad daylight and never walked out.

Mysterious bells ring through the night.

someone had the answer…

But is it already too late?

One idea, thirty years untested. One shot to escape.

writer’s note

Nor'easter began with a simple, stubborn idea, what if the storm isn't the thing to be afraid of, just how the thing gets in. Inspired by The Mist and movies like it, stories where something supernatural rides in with the weather, and that idea never left me.

At its core, Nor'easter is about what people do when they're at their worst, when everything is stripped away and you finally see who they really are. Good or evil. My hope is that the next time a storm like this rolls in, you'll think twice before walking out into it.
